ByBit currently has two was to export data: using their export center to export CSVs of your account data, or by using a ByBit tax API key.
We've noticed that the tax API key is tricky to pull data from, and they expire every 3 months. So instead of having you get an API key, we recommend following the below instructions to get your CSV files pulled and uploaded to Awaken.
Login to your ByBit account
Navigate to: https://www.bybit.com/user/assets/exportStatment
In the export data tab, select your main account.
For the type, select all the types of activity you've done (ex. Spot, Funding, etc)
For the period, select "Customize" and try to pull for the full tax year
For example, pull data for 01-01-2024 to 12-31-2024
NOTE: ByBit sometimes does not let you pull this information. You may need to request exports for 3-month chunks. And if the data is far enough back, you may not be able to pull it at all. We recommend pulling data frequently and saving it so you have it for your taxes.
It can take 1-3 days just to get your ByBit reports. But once you've gotten them, you can proceed to upload them to Awaken.
When you get your reports from ByBit, they will have two folders. A unified account folder, and an asset change folder.
Awaken supports the following CSVs from ByBit:
Asset Change > Withdrawal & Deposit
Unified Accounts > Spot Trading
Unified Accounts > USDC perpetuals PL (NOTE: not the "Trade History" CSV)
Unified Accounts > USDT perpetuals PL (NOTE: not the "Trade History" CSV)
If you upload more than one CSV from Bybit, you will need to group them together based on their accounts. All spot trading CSVs go together. Perpetuals CSVs are their own accounts and therefore don't need to be grouped.
If you need to upload other CSVs, you will need to reformat them to our standard using this guide here. If you want help, just message support, and we are happy to take a look.
You can drag and drop all the files at once and click to upload them together. You can always add a new CSV later, and Awaken will automatically group all of the data from each CSV together. So you can drop 10 ByBit CSVs, and we'll treat them as all the same account.
